At the core of Vero Health & Rehab communities’ services is our Long Term Care Program, which is aimed at meeting and exceeding the needs of residents who have disabilities or illnesses for which long or indefinite periods of care are needed. Like our other programs, Vero’s approach to long term care starts with a comprehensive assessment of each resident’s physical, social, psychological, and psychosocial needs. Part of this assessment includes a detailed evaluation by our Activities Department, the result of which is a clear understanding of each resident’s hobbies and preferences, which allows our team to ensure that residents remain actively engaged during their stay at Vero.
Residents requiring long term care present unique opportunities and challenges, and Vero Health & Rehab is prepared to take advantage of the opportunities while solving the challenges. These challenges include the need to address complex, often comorbid diseases and conditions, while the opportunities include the creation of an environment that makes each resident feel comfortable, cared for, and loved. Some of the situations potentially requiring long term care include, but is not limited to:
- Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia
- Chronic medical diseases and conditions
- Permanent disabilities
- Chronic pain
- Long-term need for help with activities of daily living
- Geropsychiatric needs (psychiatric diagnoses in older adults)
Every aspect of Vero’s corporate identity is a testament to our commitment to our long term care residents. As an accredited, full-service medical center, we’re proud to provide world-class, 24/7 care that combines the skill and discipline of a hospital with the comfort and atmosphere of home.
