COVID 19 Mitigating Actions

Vero Health Care, LLC is working closely with trusted authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other state and local bodies, to mitigate and contain the spread of COVID-19 at our facilities. We are following the latest guidelines for screening and prevention to ensure residents are receiving the care they need, and health care workers and staff are appropriately protected.

As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce risk to both staff and residents regarding COVID-19, we are taking a number of proactive measures.

We are actively:
  • Educating staff on COVID-19 signs, symptoms and transmission based on the latest CDC and CMS guidelines
  • Establishing consistent staff assignment strategies
  • Screening all essential employees and vendors at the beginning of each shift
  • Screening all visitors upon entrance to the facility
  • Conducting resident vital signs and COVID-19 symptom checks routinely and responsively
  • Monitoring and replenishing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stock for use
  • Reinforcing hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette
  • Maintaining social distancing protocols
  • Conducting COVID 19 testing with residents in accordance with CDC, CMS guidance and/or State requirements
  • Cohorting COVID 19+ residents in accordance with CDC and State guidance
  • Conducting employee testing in accordance with CDC guidance, CMS and State requirements.
  • Initiating, maintaining and discontinuing transmission based precautions in accordance with CDC guidelines
  • Treating residents for symptoms
  • Conducting facility staff testing in accordance with CDC guidelines and state adherence requirements
  • Adhering to Return to Work (RTW) strategies in accordance with CDC, CMS and State guidance
  • Enhancing internal and external communication to help ensure everyone is kept current
  • Updating COVID 19 resident and staff results routinely on our website
  • Reporting COVID 19 resident and staff to local, state and authorities
  • Outdoor visitation in accordance with Federal and State guidelines
  • Indoor visitation in accordance with Federal and State guidelines
We have also:
  • Appointed an Infection Control leader at each facility who is responsible for overall monitoring of infection control
  • Posted COVID-19 signage throughout each facility (e.g., no visitation, COVID-19 signs and symptoms, closure of common areas, and more)
  • Controlled access to each facility to limit outside exposure
  • As permissible and safe, re establish congregate and communal activities in accordance with State guidance
  • Controlled outside deliveries of laundry or food from family members or other external sources
  • Promoted safe socialization through resident video conferencing with families and friends (or visitation in accordance with State guidance)
  • Trained and provided access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for use per CDC guidelines
  • Created separate areas in each facility for resident placement in accordance with one’s COVID 19 determination in accordance with CDC guidance or State requirements
